Patricio Tejedo
Mexico City, 1995

Patricio Tejedo lives and works in Mexico City. In 2019, he completed his architecture degree at Universidad Iberoamericana Ciudad de México. Patricio began his career as an architect at Tatiana Bilbao Studio, in late 2020, he started his artistic experimentation and professional career as a visual artist. Recently, he finished an art curating course at the School of Curatorial Studies in Venice.
His work is inspired by two elements: nature and waste. His main interest is to establish a relationship between both while revaluating, studying, and discovering their potentialities, finding new uses for them. In his artistic practice, he explores various techniques, working with diverse materials such as clay, sediments, fabrics, pigments, seeds, and recently, he has incorporated different techniques using reclaimed ash.
Tejedo was one of the selected artists for the YICCA award in Milan, where he exhibited one of his first clay works. At the same time, he worked at Nectar, his first artist residency in Barcelona, exploring different techniques for the exhibition “Fuera(de)forma” in collaboration with Espronceda Gallery.
In late 2021, he co-founded PETATE, a traveling exhibition space where each volume changes context, seeking to create a bridge between young collectors and artists. So far, five exhibitions have been held, showcasing works by recognized artists.
As a conclusion to his studies in Venice, the artist was part of the exhibition “SupaVenezia” as an artist and co-curator in collaboration with A+A gallery and Sarah Staton. Patricio created a special piece for that show titled Sedimentos de Venecia, in which he made a map of the island using powders from facades deteriorated by humidity changes.
Patricio recently concluded a residency at Casa Wabi, where he further explored his new series “Sedimentos de Luz,” working with brass, clay, and candles during his six-week residency in Puerto Escondido. During this time, he also collaborated with a group of women to create a recipe book, learning new skills and engaging in dialogue within the communities of Puerto Escondido.
